How We Worship

St. Paul's offers traditional worship services using the new hymnal: Lutheran Service Book. We believe that worship is best described by the term Gottesdienst. This German word, meaning 'Divine service', is intentionally ambiguous. In answer to the question: In worship, do we serve God or are we served by Him?—We respond—Yes! Worship is a two-way street. We gather together around God’s Word and Sacrament in order to be served by Him, and in grateful response we offer up our prayers, singing and thanks in service to Him. Because we believe that the most important part of worship is God coming to us to bless when we gather in His name, we celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday.
